How might we build students’ creative thinking abilities and develop design thinking skills, whilst building knowledge around sustainability and saving the planet?

By the time they finish Primary School, many students no longer consider themselves creative. As digital natives, they readily turn to Google for ideas and often struggle with divergent thinking. EYEYAH!’s unique value proposition lies in how they foster creativity through strong visual literacy, using art observation, a technique that can even lead to better mathematics grades, to build critical thinking and new perspectives in problem-solving.

EYEYAH!’s approach helps students to take a pause and learn through observation of the world around them. Advocating strong visual literacy is not just about art—it is also about unlocking that inner curiosity, giving students the confidence to explore new ideas, and helping them to think outside the box.

Project Outcomes

After the programme, 70% of educators grew their anticipation to run those lessons with their students—and their excitement was contagious! From the students, there were many positive words such as “happy” and “excited!”. This was a wonderful outcome achieved in just one term where students from both schools took flight with their creativity, empathy, and collaboration skills. They learned to experiment fearlessly and reimagine possibilities while solving real-world problems.

“Looking through things slowly helps to strengthen the students’ observational skills as they are taught to notice more.”
